I happen to be a coffee fanatic, so I understand caffeine dependence. If you can’t let the latte go, order it with skim milk and sweeten it with a sugar substitute. If you hate the taste of plain water, try Crystal Light. You get the picture.

Here’s a breakdown of how many calories are in some of the drinks we love and how much weight you can lose by trading them for H20:

How many calories do you eat per day? You have no idea, right? The good news is that it doesn’t matter how many calories you eat now. All you need to do to lose weight is cut back on whatever amount you currently eat. Here’s how to do that without having to count calories: text yourself whenever you eat. This works the same way as keeping a food journal except you’ll actually have your journal with you when you eat.

The problem with written food journals is that you forget to keep the notepad with you. Instead of using paper, send yourself a text message of what you ate (because you’re never without your phone). Don’t include calories or anything complicated. All the info should fit in one message. It really doesn’t matter how detailed the text is. The very act of texting or writing what you eat is a self-correcting task. It makes you more aware of what’s going in your mouth which helps you cut back on mindless eating and lose weight.

4. Take a Walking Lunch Break
